abstract
My work explores the narrative framework of the vignette and brings it to graphic design. By definition, vignettes are “short, impressionistic scenes that focus on one
moment or give one impression about a character, an idea, or a setting.”* In graphic design, the vignette is an approach to time-based narrative that engages the viewer,
creates intrigue, and calls attention to details, moments, and fragments as components in making meaning. I use this device to digest and decipher content and eventually build narrative in the form of books and short motion pieces.
